A thought for today

DOES EVIL EXIST?

One day a university professor decided to provoke his students with a question like:
”Has God created everything that exists?”
One of them replied bravely:
”Yes, He has.”
”Everything?” – asked the teacher.
”Yes, everything.” – the student’s answer was.
”In such a case, God has also created evil, hasn’t He? For evil exists.” – said the teacher.
The student did not find an answer and so he was silent. The teacher was delighted with yet another possibility of proving that faith is just a myth. But all of a sudden, another student raised his hand and asked:
”Can I ask you a question, Professor?”
”Sure, you can.” – he replied.
”Does coldness exist?”
”Sure it does!” – answered the Professor. –„Have you never felt it?”
”Indeed, Sir, coldness exists. According to some physical researches coldness is the total lack of warmth.  An object can be examined only if it has and transmits energy; the warmth is the object which transmits its energy. Without warmth the objects are neutral and unable to react. But the coldness does not exist. We have created this word “coldness” to explain the lack of warmth. And how about darkness?” – the student continued.
”It exists.” – the Professor replied.
”You are wrong again, Sir. Darkness is a total lack of light. You can examine light and lightness but not darkness. The  Newton's prism shows a number of different colors that the white light can be broken into according to wavelengths. Darkness is just a word we have created to explain the complete lack of light.
To finish, the student asked:
”And the evil, professor? Does evil exist? God has not created evil. Evil is the lack of God in human hearts, it is the lack of love, humanity and faith. Love and faith are like warmth and light. They exist and their lack leads to evil.”
This time, the Professor remained silent. And the student’s name was ALBERT EINSTEIN.
